Good evening Resisting Hate,

It has been an excellent day for those of us who oppose hate! As you have probably heard by now Tommy Robinson was arrested at Leeds Crown court today. Lots of speculation that his suspended sentence has been activated. As yes that is unconfirmed but we'll keep you posted.

In other good news antisemitic hate singer Alison Chabloz has been convicted, pending sentencing on 14 June. Judge has already said she has passed the 'custody  threshold' so we may be looking at a custodial sentence here.

This all sends the very very clear message that hate and hate speech are not sanctioned by UK law. Those who defame, harass, abuse and victimise based on race, faith, orientation, gender etc etc are getting the very rude awakening that this behaviour will not be tolerated.

Hate speech is not free speech.
